I seriously took up running during 2014. My aim was to beat my record (set in 1995) of 5km in 35 minutes. It took a while, but I got there. Then, in March 2015, I started going to parkrun at Mitchelton. When Chermside parkrun did the test run on the Ekka holiday in August 2015, I went along, and I've been to every one since.

Every Saturday I set up the kilometre markers and directional signs between 6:00 and 6:30am. I joined the event team and directed my first parkrun at the end of February 2016. Then I became Co-Event Director in July 2016, and Event Director in February 2017.

I got my 5km time down to 30 minutes in September 2015 and my current PB is 25:30, set in early 2017. In relation to distance, I ran (trudged) 23.5km in October 2016, taking just over 3 hours. My current running goal is to get my 5km time down to 25 minutes.
